APPLICATION SUPPORT MATERIALS For the ASPEN DANCE CONNECTION’S 29th Annual JUIRIED SHOWCASE ELEMENTALS February 2007 |

APPLICATION DEADLINE: October 4, 2006
1. Application form.
2. A complete current resume containing training, choreography, performing and teaching experience, reviews, special awards and grants, and what makes you and your work unique.
3. A 1/2" VHS cassette tape cued to the beginning of the dance submitted or DVD or arrange to perform live for the review board. Up to 4 dances may be submitted to show all the styles being used.
4. If possible, include still photos of company or previously designed work. (Digital format is preferred)
5. A biography as you would like it to appear in the program and newspaper articles.
6.Please include a stamped self-addressed mailer if you wish your tape or photos returned.
7. A written narrative of your interpretation of Elementals.
* APPLICATIONS FEES All applicants must be a member in good standing with the ASPEN DANCE CONNECTION. The $50 application fee will include membership in the Aspen Dance Connection. Please make checks payable to the ASPEN DANCE CONNECTION and send it with the application to be considered. Choreographers who are accepted will receive a $1,000 stipend or a $500 stipend as well as assistance with costuming, housing and travel to the Aspen area for the week of January 30 through February 2, 2007.
Rehearsal and technical specifications of each piece will be worked through on Jan. 30 and 31st, 2007. Pieces will be performed on evenings of Feb 1 and 2 at the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, CO. Choreographers agree to work with artistic advisory board and the Aspen Dance Connection in meeting deadlines and accepting constructive suggestions regarding their work. Choreographers are required to show the commissioned piece prior to December 20, 2006. Choreographers and dancers must agree to attend all press events throughout the performance week and agree to speak via phone to do press interviews in the months leading up to the event. Sole ownership of original work will remain that of the Choreographer. Choreographer agrees that his/her name and image can be used in association with the Aspen Dance Connection. Choreographers and Dancers are responsible for their own insurance. The $50 application fee includes annual membership to the Aspen Dance Connection. Membership includes your information and or calendar posted free on our website which has 750 viewers monthly. Application fee also includes an invitation to perform at the Aspen Dance Connection’s ECO Fringe Festival in the summer of 2007 and/or the Colorado Choreographers Exchange in the Fall. Application fee does not include membership fees of individual dancers. All dancers must be Members in Good Standing to perform in the Showcase.
All application materials, including the applicants' membership fee, must be received on or before October 4, 2006 and sent to the address below.
